Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and sends back its result; this site does not keep a separate log of the terms entered.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, the message and reply details may be retained so the conversation can be handled. We do not disclose that correspondence outside the organization unless a valid legal duty requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, routine server and analytics systems may record technical details about the visit, such as:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time on each page
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Page-view timestamps
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure visits and understand which pages are used. Analytics services may aggregate those signals. Browser controls can block cookies, although portions of the site may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating and improving page delivery
- Passing search queries to the provider selected for that tool
- Measuring which pages are useful to visitors
- Diagnosing errors and other technical faults
- Displaying advertising that may be relevant to a visit
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Berrien County dockets or personal case files. It offers guidance about the Clerk of Superior Court, the separate Magistrate and Probate custodians, the trial courts, and the official provider routes. Georgia’s Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 et seq., expresses a public-access policy, while court-file access is also governed by the court and applicable rules, including Uniform Superior Court Rule 21. Neither framework means this site holds the official file. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing practices govern anything submitted through those tools, not this policy. Read the applicable provider terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to clerk pages, court portals, statewide directories, legal-aid resources, and outside search services. Once a link is followed, the destination’s privacy policy controls the visit, so review it before sharing information.
Advertising partners may also measure activity across sites for ad delivery. That tracking takes place on their systems rather than under our direct control.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be processed by:
- Search providers receiving queries from their own tools
- Analytics services measuring traffic and performance
- Ad networks serving placements on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when legally compelled
How We Protect Your Data
We use ordinary security measures suited to the information we handle. No internet service is immune to every attack, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us so it can be reviewed for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Georgia law may give a visitor rights concerning personal information, depending on the circumstances. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 et seq., addresses public records held by covered entities, while court-file access follows the responsible custodian and rules such as Uniform Superior Court Rule 21. Those authorities do not turn this private reference site into a court-record custodian. At a minimum, you may:
- Ask what personal information we maintain about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask that information be deleted when a legal exception does not apply
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where available
